  • COD: World at War Preview

    call-of-duty-world-at-war-4Call of Duty has had only one game on the Wii, Call of Duty 3. And unfortunately Call of Duty 4 didn’t make it to the Wii. But now, Call of Duty: World at War brings an amazing FPS to the Wii.

    The visuals are said to be quite amazing “…so much so that some people (admittedly, ourselves included) actually mistook the game for the 360 build when entering the hands-on area…”. The characters are very similar grapichs to those before, but the lighting effects and scenery graphics are extremely beautiful. You can actually hide in a bush without seeing little pixels all over your screen.

    It’s sensitivity and control scheme could use some work though, sepifically the sensitivity of aiming. According to IGN’s hands-on in order to make the game more enjoyable they had to “…tightened everything as much as possible to get a better feel for the max sensitivity, and while it worked well enough for us to navigate and battle it out on the field, it could still be much, much tighter…”. Unfortunately, this may cause some negative changes to the game.

    The game will have an online multiplayer mode with the same features as COD4, but no news so far in the splitscreen department besides the co-op mode in story mode. The Wii mic will not be used for voice chat.

    Setting aside all of it’s negative things so far, this game could be the best FPS on the Wii since Medal of Honor: Heroes 2. The game is rated M and will be released;
    US: November 11, 2008
    Europe: November 14, 2008
    Australia: November 26, 2008
    For $49.99.
