Anyone know what this little "SYNC" thing on the wii is supposed to do?

oh that button its how you get the another wiimote to connect to that wii.

What do you mean? Like 'reading the wiimote so it knows to find this one?'

like if you have someone come over and they have a wiimote and try to play it wont work. yeah if you look at the wiimotes battery area the red circle that to says SYNC. so yo have to press the wiimotes and the wii's at the same to for it to get a signal to tell it yo you now accepted as a wiimote for me now.

sometimes you have to press 1 and 2 repeatedly, its also how you put miis onto the wii remote and take them around with you

It says to not hold them both down at the same time, though...

It doesn't even have to be at the same time, just close in preceeding. And, you don't have to hold them down.
