Me again!
Interesting article here (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/4667100.stm) from BBC Site. Looks like the 10th object in the solar system (nicknamed: Zena) found last summer may well be officially named the 10th planet of the solar system.
Its the largest object found in the solar system since Neptune in 1846!
If so it will be designated a Greek/Roman god name in line with the current planets (except \"Earth\" of course).
Any guesses what official god name will be chosen ?

Unfortunatly Zena is the name that was given last year just as a nickname for the object. Back then it\'s size was unknown.
Now that it\'s size was confirmed a week or so ago, planet status is likely (still not confirmed). If planet status is confirmed it will definatly loose it\'s nickname as all planets must have a name of Greek or Roman mythology.

I have no clue where the name \'Earth\' came from. But wherever it came from, the name was made waaaaay before planets were discovered or Greek & Roman gods were \'invented\' by humans.
I guess when man was first on earth (dont ask me how cus thats another discussion!), he gave the ground that he stood on a name ... namely \'Earth\'. I guess thats how it\'s stayed ever since (even after we found out the world was round and not flat).
