Hate to admit it but i\'m old enough to remember the 1990 world cup. Closest England ever got to winning... and yes we lost on Penalties in the Semi Final!

Then there was Euro \'96 with gaza\'s boot being no more than 2 inches from tapping in the Golden Goal ! (I think that was quarter final??).. it went to penalties... and well the rest is history (Gareth Southgate, poor bloke)
